TEN - Transparent Education Network
TEN is a network that brings together regional organizations and individuals with the desire to promote transparency in schools and education systems. The network is financed by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and one of the implementing organizations is YUVA. This weekend a first kick-off training was held for the core group on the reasons and effects of corruption in higher education. The core group consists of approximately 25 youth students from Bakus five most well-known universities, among others Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Baku State University and Azerbaijan Technical University.

The core group will meet in several occasions to discuss the role of corruption in Azerbaijani school system and YUVA will try to strengthen the students so that they can work as key elements and multipliers for transparency in their respective universities. The project, that will be finished in december this year, will fall into two categories; awareness raising and capacity building/development of codes of conduct. If needed, the code of conduct will be developed using examples from Swedish universities and the Swedish law for Higher Education.
